Clap Your Hands

Another complete sample set from the dudes over at Hip Hop is Read.  This one for the uber-classic Midnight Marauders record by A Tribe Called Quest.  A lot of good jazzy things in here.  They also did a great fantastic comprehensive tribute to Dilla yesterday, in collabo with the dudes at Metal Lungies.

  1. Am I wrong for thinking that Midnight Marauders is the best Tribe album? I grew up on Beats, Rhymes, & Life, but when I first listened to this all the way through, I bugged out…It may also be because “Electric Relaxation” is my favorite Tribe track ever.

“Honey check it out you got me mesmerised/ with your black hair and your fat-ass thighs..”

  2. MM is DEFINITELY the best Tribe album. I grew up on The Low End Theory and I slept on MM (relatively). I did spend the entire year of 93 lstening to it, and I still have it entirely memorized, but I never really revisited it until about a month ago. Up until a month ago, I would’ve told you TLET was the best, but in reality it is MM

MM definitely has a better sample set too (or should I say better beats)

nobody better come on here talking about any “Beats, Rhymes and Life” or (the EXTREMELY underHATEd) “People’s Instictive Travels…” is best nonsense. consider that a warning…

  3. THE LOVE MOVEMENT!!!!

is also not the best tribe record… the benner is correct there is only 1 choice….MM (maybe 2 choices if you are between the ages of 32 and older than 32. )

  5. favorited this one, guy
